Seasoning:
Mustard seeds -1tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - a sprig
Other Ingredients:
Plantains/Vazhakkai - 4
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Sambhar powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Green chillies -3
Chopped Ginger - 1 tsp
Grated coconut -1/4 cup
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
Mustard seeds -1tsp

Method:
- Peel the skin and cut into desired cubes.
- Cook in water with sambar powder, salt, turmeric.
- Cook till plantains are just soft. Don't overcook.
- Drain the water and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in pan, add seasoning.
- Add onion, green chilli, grated ginger and fry till translucent.
- Add the cooked plantain, fry for 2 minutes and add grated coconut.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
